# Christopher Baer

> Product and strategy leader with nearly two decades of experience in internet marketplaces. Career spans eBay, Tripadvisor (FlipKey), and Wish. Stanford University alumnus. Based in Silicon Valley.

Christopher Baer is the founder of Tech First Ventures and a product and strategy executive who has worked at eBay, Tripadvisor, and Wish. At Wish, he served as Sr. Director of Strategy & Transformation and was a member of the executive team reporting to the CEO. He led product for ProductBoost (on-site advertising) and the desktop & mobile web buyer experience. Prior to that he was Chief of Staff to the CTO, overseeing an organization of 700+ people.

At Tripadvisor, he was Head of Product at FlipKey, a vacation rental marketplace acquired by Tripadvisor in 2012, leading Product, Design, Content, and Analytics. At eBay, he progressed from Associate Project Manager to Product Manager, managing registration and security products.

He co-founded two companies: Chosen.fyi (recruiting technology for the startup ecosystem) and Jindal Neurology, Inc. (healthcare venture building product and technology for a specialty neurology practice).

He holds a B.A. in Human Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience and a minor in Mathematical & Computational Science from Stanford University. He interned at Gilead Sciences in Research Virology.

His current interests include AI for Science, how AI will disrupt medicine, sociological theory (Luhmann), learning health systems, and philosophy. He is writing a non-fiction book and advises selectively through Tech First Ventures.
